La Société to host a talk about the ozone hole and climate change by Jonathan Shanklin “Voyages to Antarctica – the ozone hole and climate change” 

Join us on Tuesday 7th November at 6.30pm at the main hall of Les Varendes (LOCATION TBC)

Jonathan will describe some of his visits to Antarctica, then focus on two major environmental issues: the ozone hole and climate change. Occasionally signs of ozone depletion might be seen from Guernsey and one day climate change will have a major impact on the island. Come and find out what you might see in Antarctica and why climate change matters.

Jonathan Shanklin is an emeritus fellow at the British Antarctic Survey and was one of the scientists who discovered the Antarctic ozone hole.

The talk will be held at the main hall at Les Varendes (that’s the old Grammar) 0n Tuesday 7th November starting at 6:30pm.
