La Société created its education team in September 2020 thanks to funding from the Guernsey Community Foundation.
The focus is the delivery of an Environmental Education programme through the school curriculum which is linked to the Strategy for Nature (https://www.gov.gg/strategyfornature).
It is important our education programme is inclusive and accessible providing opportunities to all children and young adults in so much as our resources allow and enable.
In addition to working with the education curriculum we aim to work with and support youth groups and clubs to engage young people’s interest in Guernsey’s heritage and foster a sense of stewardship.
We have revived the La Société junior membership and will be providing monthly activities, which proved popular in the past.
We also intend introducing week-long learning clubs during school holidays. This will be open to non-members where resources permit.
At a time when connectedness to nature is more important than ever, we believe every child should have the opportunity to fall in love with nature. Our aim is to make La Société accessible to everyone!
