Participants Needed: minimum 6 – maximum 10 volunteers
We invite our Conservation Volunteers (any La Société member!) to join us to help us rake our wet meadow at Pre D’Enfer.
This is one of our smaller reserves along Rue des Bergers (in the lanes behind the Fleur de Jardin, Kings Mills). This site is a wet meadow which we rake once a year to prevent any loss of habitation and support the expansion of existing habitats. The cutting and raking such as this stops habitats from becoming overgrown and then becoming lost, which in turn then allows the existing areas to thrive so it can continue to host it’s range of unique and rare plants, insects and birds – in this instance such as Southern marsh orchids which flower on this site in Spring.

Clothing: Please wear practical appropriate clothing you don’t mind potentially getting dirty and sturdy shoes, ideally wellies. If you have a pair of gardening gloves please bring them along, if not some will be provided.
