2020 Has not been a good year for butterflies
A FALL in the number- of butterflies in Britain appears to being mirrored here. Bailiwick residents were among those taking part in the Annual Big Butterfly Count, which saw a record number of submissions across the UK, yet the numbers of butterflies spotted were down 34%. Nearly 112,000 people recorded butterflies in the sunshine for 15 minutes from 17 July to 9 August for the Butterfly Conservation charity’s count, but the survey reported the lowest average number of butterflies per count – 10.66 -since recording began in, 2010.
