DESCRIPTION:Junior Event – Bird Ringing Demonstration\nSunday 8th October 2023 | 10:00am – 11:00am\, at Le Grand Pré nature reserve.  \nJoin us for a morning of bird ringing demonstrated by Trevor Bourgaize\, President of La Société\, at Le Grand Pré. Le Grande Pré is a nature reserve on the island which is owned by the States of Guernsey\, but has long been managed by La Société. The reserve is one of the largest surviving areas of wetland and reed beds we have\, and therefore is an important habitat for an array of local wildlife\, but in particular breeding birds.  \nBird ringing helps provide us with a better understanding of the populations and distribution of our local birds. Guernsey has bird ringing records which date back to the mid 1940s which supplies us with a wealth of information.  \nTo register interest in this event\, please contact Sarah at eca@societe.org.gg with children’s names. \nPlease wear sensible footwear.  \n
