DESCRIPTION:Saturday 20th July | 14:00 – 15:00 | Rocquaine  \nWe would like to invite our Juniors to join us for a joint event with Guernsey Conservation Volunteers (GCV) where we will be ‘Searching for the Plant Invaders’ by removing sour fig shoots (a non-native plant!) from Rocquaine. \nGCV’s aim this year is to make Rocquaine “free of sour fig by the end of the year” and we’re looking forward to lending a helping hand! Come along and help us remove this invasive non-native plant which is damaging our island’s environment.  \nSour fig is an invasive non-native plant has a negative impact on our native species. When the plant is removed a variety of native coastal plants  will regrow from existing seeds in the ground\, which in turn will then provide food and shelter for insects and small mammals.
