The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering practical conservation and environmental activities to both children and adults to increase knowledge and awareness of the natural world, to improve the natural environment and to gain an appreciation of the value of conservation work. It will involve working with children at school and at La Société Nature Reserves and other locations and introducing them to the various flora and fauna present. The successful candidate will be able to engage with children and produce activities for them. Additionally, the postholder will organise and supervise adult volunteer work parties for the purpose of conservation work.
Candidates will be both knowledgeable and passionate about the natural world and have an ability to convey that knowledge to others in an engaging manner. Organisational skills and the ability to self-direct are important. Experience in the field of education will be an asset but it is not essential.
The post is full time although there may be some flexibility in the hours. Weekend working will be minimal.
