Snorkelling expedition!
Saturday 17th June 13:00 - 18:00
The next MBS event will be the first of three snorkelling expeditions! This next event will take place on Saturday 17th June 2017. Plan A is to meet the Imperial at 1pm for lunch, where we will go through the route we'll be snorkelling (around the Cup 'n' Saucer) and review some marine species info of things we're likely to see. We will aim to start the snorkelling at 4pm (half tide, neap). All are welcome for the lunch and/or the snorkelling, just let me know what you'd like to attend. You will need your own wetsuit, wetsuit boots (or similar), mask and snorkel. If you have wetsuit gloves and a hood I would recommend those too, as the water will still be chilly. (Plan B: should it be a prevailing wind and a bit strong for the Cup n'n Saucer location, we will instead meet at Chouet car park at 3.30pm.) Please keep the following dates free for the next two snorkelling expeditions: Saturday 8th July 2017 (Plan A = Marble Bay, Plan B = Saline Bay) Saturday 12th August (Plan A = Belvoir Bay, Herm, Plan B = Moulin Huet) Beckie Smith and I will be leading the events. It is necessary to book onto these events, as we can only take out a limited number of individuals for each trip (8). The minimum age for these events is 13, and any individuals under 16 must have a parent/ guardian with them. Don't hesitate to get in touch with any queries. To recap, booking onto these events is required! Email marine biology@societe.org.gg to book on, or for more information.
